Technologies

Four Piston, The disc brake system with opposite piston design and dual diameter features pistons of different size at the front and rear. The system adopts a power transfer system in which the brake disc is pressed by the smaller piston at the entrance of the brake disc intake and also by the larger and more powerful piston at the rear. This prevents the oscillating movement of the brake disc and significantly reduces noise. The 4-piston bridge also allows for a wider contact area for the brake disc, while maintaining a compact size, and the optimal location of the pickups is adjusted as needed to stabilize the pressure. Thanks to the use combined with the SERVOWAVE lever you get an incredible 50% more braking power than with the previous model. The advanced SAINT/ZEE disc brake system, which fits for each rider's different braking styles, offers stable braking power and excellent modulation.

ICE TECHNOLOGIES, Loss of braking efficiency from overheating, which can occur on the brake disc and pickup when braking on long descents for example, has a negative impact on braking performance. SHIMANO ice TECHNOLOGIES brake disc and ICE TECHNOLOGIES pickup have been adopted to make cooling technology a reality that provides reliable performance. The coated brake disc blade, which has a 3-layer sandwich structure made of stainless steel, aluminum and stainless steel, provides better radiation performance and can range from 400oC to 300oC surface temperature. A radiation fin for the pill has also been adopted. In addition, the coated brake disc pad and radiator fin offer long pickup life, less noise, less loss of braking efficiency from overheating, and light weight.
