The SL-70 Aero handlebar is a high performance handlebar. Made of unidirectional carbon to be resistant and very light (approx 240 g). It is available in sizes 40, 42, 44 cm.
Zipp SL-70 Aero is, in every way, a high performance bar. This unidirectional carbon handlebar is packed with innovations for the best class of riding, ergonomics and aerodynamic performance. Shaped like a top bar wing, the SL-70 features Aero Zipp the latest bar refinements while taking advantage of the trend inherited from the VukaSprint aero.
The bar's distinctive upper wing shape is designed with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), the same software used to design Madeira Zipp s listed king-of® wheels. Our research showed that a traditional round tube section creates a resistance of approximately 0.74 Newtons, which we found requires approximately 7.5 watts of effort at 30mph (48.3 km/h) to overcome.
The aerodynamic profile developed in CFDs to be used on the SL-70 Aero handlebar creates only 0.11N of drag,
Which means saving 6,400 watts during a round tube section.
Beyond aerodynamic performance, the SL-70 Aero offers a range of 70 mm to allow proper adjustment without compromising stem length and steering control. Reviewing the 10 degree ramp angle to the brake hoods eliminates the need to rotate the bars.
The bar also offers an extensive wrist set for walking and running on drops.
